That was stunning. My throat actually hurt a bit from emotion while I read this last part. And I'm happy you left the ending somewhat open, I want to believe that Walt was able to get better, and that they all finally find their places in the world.

Your writing style is really amazing, I could envision everything so clearly, from the summer heat to the emotions rolling around in all of them. Your Walt was amazing as well, I loved how he was able to tell Nate so much by saying so little.

I'm pretty confident in saying that this is the best GK AU I've read, and it's definitely going on my rec-list.

ps: When you were describing the painting in the second part, I just knew it had to be William Turner XD
